Los Alamos / Santa Fe Institute Nexus
Ongoing · Northern New Mexico
The Santa Fe Institute was co-founded by Manhattan Project alumni including Murray Gell-Mann (Nobel laureate, Caltech/LANL). Epstein donated at least $2.5 million to SFI and was a regular visitor. SFI personnel overlap heavily with Los Alamos National Laboratory — they share researchers, advisory boards, and social networks. Multiple dead scientists on the site had LANL affiliations: Spencer Goetz and Benjamin Borges worked at or had connections to Sandia/LANL in the New Mexico corridor. Epstein’s Zorro Ranch property sits approximately 200 miles from Los Alamos — he hosted physicists there for extended stays.
Epstein funded the institution most intertwined with Los Alamos. Multiple scientists on this site worked at or near Los Alamos. Epstein owned property in the same state and hosted scientists there. The money, the geography, and the deaths converge in northern New Mexico.

Harvard — Lieber — Thousand Talents Pipeline
2005 – Present
Epstein gave $6.5 million to Harvard, including to the department chaired by Charles Lieber — later convicted of concealing his participation in China’s Thousand Talents Program. Lieber was paid $50K/month by Wuhan University of Technology and given $1.5M to set up a lab. He is now teaching at Tsinghua University in China. Feng Yanghe — the Chinese military AI scientist who died in a 2:35 AM car crash and was buried with military honors — was a Harvard visiting scholar during Lieber’s tenure as department chair (2011–2013). Epstein’s money flowed into the same department that produced a convicted Chinese intelligence asset.
Three threads converge at Harvard: Epstein’s $6.5M, Lieber’s Chinese intelligence pipeline, and Feng Yanghe’s military AI work. The funding, the espionage, and a dead scientist all pass through one department.

Caltech / JPL Institutional Cluster
2000s – Present
Epstein funded physics symposia at Caltech and maintained relationships with Caltech-affiliated researchers. Caltech operates NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory under federal contract. Three scientists on this site have direct JPL/Caltech ties: Michael David Hicks (25 years at JPL, dead 2023), Monica Reza (JPL Materials Processing Group director, missing 2025), and Carl Grillmair (Caltech IPAC collaborator, dead 2025). The WHCD shooter Cole Thomas Allen also held a Caltech engineering degree and completed a NASA JPL fellowship.
Epstein funded research at the university that runs JPL. Three scientists connected to JPL/Caltech are dead or missing. A fourth JPL-connected person committed a violent public act. Epstein’s money touched the institutional ecosystem; four people connected to that ecosystem are now casualties.

Zorro Ranch — New Mexico Physics Salon
1993 – 2019 · Stanley, NM
Epstein’s 7,500-acre Zorro Ranch in Stanley, New Mexico sits approximately 200 miles from Los Alamos National Laboratory and ~60 miles from Santa Fe (home of SFI). He hosted physicists, mathematicians, and researchers for extended stays. Nobel laureate Murray Gell-Mann (Caltech, LANL, SFI co-founder) was a documented Epstein associate who bridged all three institutions. The ranch functioned as an informal scientific salon where researchers from the national lab ecosystem socialized with Epstein’s broader network.
The New Mexico corridor — Los Alamos, Sandia, SFI, Kirtland AFB — is where multiple scientists on this site worked. Epstein maintained a physical presence in this corridor and used it to host the same scientific community. McCasland vanished from Albuquerque — 60 miles from the ranch. The geography is the connection.

Mondaloy Shell Company Network
Unknown duration
Epstein routed science funding through a network of shell companies collectively called the Mondaloy chain. These entities obscured the true source, destination, and scale of his financial support for scientific research. The $12.9M in known funding represents only what has been publicly traced — the actual total is likely significantly higher. Shell companies were registered across multiple jurisdictions, making full forensic accounting difficult. Several universities have acknowledged receiving Epstein funds they initially denied.
If the known $12.9M already overlaps with multiple institutions connected to dead scientists, the unknown funding routed through shells could extend that overlap further. We may never know the true scale.

Intelligence Connections — Maxwell, Barak, Wexner
1980s – 2019
Epstein’s network included documented intelligence-adjacent figures. Robert Maxwell (Ghislaine’s father) is widely reported to have been a Mossad asset — confirmed by multiple former intelligence officials after his 1991 death. Ehud Barak, former Israeli Prime Minister and military intelligence chief, visited Epstein’s properties and received funding through Epstein-connected entities. Leslie Wexner, Epstein’s primary financial backer, granted him sweeping power of attorney. Epstein’s own intelligence ties remain murky — former CIA officials have made conflicting statements about whether he was an asset, an informant, or simply useful.
If Epstein operated at the intersection of science funding and intelligence networks, his institutional access could have served as a mapping function — identifying which scientists worked on what, where the sensitive research was happening, and who had access to classified programs.

PROMIS Software & Signals Intelligence
1980s – 2000s
The reports connect Epstein’s intelligence ties to the PROMIS software scandal — a DOJ case management system allegedly stolen by intelligence services, backdoored, and sold to foreign governments for surveillance purposes. Robert Maxwell is alleged to have been involved in distributing PROMIS to foreign intelligence agencies. The connection to Epstein is circumstantial but persistent in investigative reporting: Maxwell’s daughter Ghislaine was Epstein’s closest associate, and the elder Maxwell’s intelligence work involved technology transfer and surveillance infrastructure.
PROMIS represents a precedent for using compromised software to surveil institutions and individuals. If Epstein’s network inherited or continued any aspect of this capability, it could explain how sensitive research programs were mapped across multiple countries.

MIT Media Lab — Concealed Donations
2013 – 2019
MIT Media Lab director Joi Ito resigned in September 2019 after the New Yorker revealed he had accepted Epstein funding and actively concealed the relationship. Internal emails showed Epstein’s name was marked as “Voldemort” and “he who must not be named” in MIT communications — staff knew the donations were toxic and hid them anyway. MIT’s own investigation found at least $2 million in Epstein-linked gifts. The pattern of institutional concealment raises the question: how many other institutions received Epstein money and simply never got caught?
If MIT actively concealed Epstein funding, other institutions may have done the same. The known $12.9M could be a fraction of the actual total.

Manhattan Project Institutional Lineage
1943 – Present
The institutions at the center of this overlap — Los Alamos, Caltech, the Santa Fe Institute — share a common ancestor: the Manhattan Project. LANL was built for the bomb. Caltech supplied key physicists. SFI was founded by LANL alumni to continue interdisciplinary physics research. Epstein’s science funding targeted this lineage specifically — not random universities, but the institutions descended from America’s most consequential classified weapons program. The scientists on this site who worked at these institutions inherited that lineage and the clearances that come with it.
Epstein didn’t fund science broadly. He funded the Manhattan Project’s institutional descendants — the exact ecosystem where classified defense research and the dead scientists converge.

The Bottom Line
No direct link between Jeffrey Epstein and any individual dead or missing scientist has been established. But the institutional overlap is systemic, not incidental. Epstein’s $12.9M+ in known science funding — plus an unknown amount routed through shell companies — flowed into the exact institutions where these scientists worked: Harvard, Caltech/JPL, MIT, Santa Fe Institute, and the Los Alamos ecosystem. His intelligence-adjacent network had the means to map who worked on what. Whether this overlap is coincidence or infrastructure depends on questions that Epstein’s death in a federal detention center ensured would never be answered under oath.
